Experience:
August 2006 to Present:     University of Alabama Gorgas Library
                                                                Work Study Student
                I have been employed at Gorgas for four years. During my employment, I have worked under two different departments. I worked for the circulation department for three years. My tasks included working the circulation desk, checking in/out books, answering phones, answering patron’s queries, and putting carts in order. I also have experience in shelving and shifting books and also using shelf lister. In August 2009, I began working in the Interlibrary Loan department. I work with both lending and borrowing of materials.  My daily tasks include unpacking/packing mail, processing and shipping both lending and borrowing materials, scanning books, microfilm, and micro fiche, and also processing and sending articles via Ariel, Odyssey, and RapidILL.
August 2004 to May 2006:    Shelton State Community College
                                                                Work Study Student
                While employed at Shelton State’s Library, I worked the circulation desk, checking in/out books, answering phones, and answering patron’s queries. I also worked at the reserve desk where I checked in/out reserved materials (study guides, tests, books), answered phones, and also worked with AV materials. Students set up and delivered Audio Visual machinery, including projectors, televisions, DVD/VCR, and also film strip projectors.

RELATED COURSEWORK:
                I am currently enrolled in the Library Science program at the University of Alabama. This is my second semester in the SLIS program. I plan on graduating in May of 2011. This semester I am enrolled in LS 531: Academic Libraries, LS 560: Information Technologies, and LS 507: Information Sources and Services.
